Public Safety and Traffic Control: Tram Stop 30 – Clarke St/High St, Northcote

In Melbourne, tram passengers are put in danger every day due to facing the risk of collisions.

In 2019, it was found that Melbourne’s CBD was home to five of the ten top hotspots for accidents involving trams and vehicles which is why securing these sensitive areas with practical solutions like our Energy Absorbing Bollards (AB-EAB) is crucial.

Last January we installed our Energy Absorbing Bollards at Tram Stop 30 located on Clarke and High St in Northcote.

As a part of our latest pedestrian and road safety solution, the Energy Absorbing Bollards are perfect in pedestrian dense areas and work to reduce the amount of damage incurred when an errant vehicle attempts to enter.

Engineered to save lives, our Energy Absorbing Bollards are compliant with the AS/NZS 3845 standards, and configured to a TL-0 containment level to withstand a 1700-kilogram vehicle travelling up to 65km/h.

Unlike our other Bollards, the AB-EAB is flexible in design as it is constructed to reduce the speed of the approaching car in a controlled conduct, allowing for the driver to remain within the vehicle as they brace from the collision.
