Founded in 1984 by survivors of the Holocaust in commemoration of lives lost, the MHM is Australia’s largest institution of Holocaust education and remembrance. As a result, it is vital that this institution is protected and secure to ensure that it continues to combat prejudice and cultivate understanding between peoples of all backgrounds and cultures.

Made of a singular cell round tube that is slotted for controlled crumpling and, as a result, energy absorption, these pole buffers are designed to protect the occupants of vehicles involved with fixed object collisions. Rather than the car receiving the brunt of the collision, the pole buffer absorbs the energy of the crash that would otherwise be faced by the vehicle and passengers, often to serious injury and even fatality. This absorption means that those in the colliding vehicle are protected against the primary factor that causes injury; the force of the crash. Other than this automatic action, the boom barrier could also be controlled via remote from any direction, providing convenience for authorized persons who needed to enter. These two functions combine to form the perfect levels of access control for the entry and exit of warehouses.
The boom barrier arm is powder coated for a refined and attractive finish that is durable against the elements and any bumps it may face. This boom arm is 6 meters in length, but is able to be customized to be shorter. ]]>Recently, the Australian Bollards team installed two of our Solar Powered Boom Gates (AB-DBA-900A) in Colac, near the Great Ocean Road. These high-quality access solutions have an environmentally friendly approach, with the boom barrier running entirely off solar energy, making it the perfect carbon neutral solution. The Colac Otway Shire local government area (LGA) partnered with our Australian Bollards team to provide and install the stand alone system. Because of its automatic solar powering, it’s the perfect smart solution for remote locations and places that don’t need constant manual control.
Road safety is a major priority here at Australian Bollards. Our safety solutions comprise high quality products to ensure that the public and road vehicles remain safe. The Colac project had two points of installation along a gravel road to help prevent vehicles from speeding, a previously common occurrence. As the road is in a local traffic area where children may be present, the speed limit is 40kph and it is vital to ensure vehicles stick to this; as vehicles approach the boom gates, they will slow down in anticipation.
Thus, the AB-DBA-900A boom gate is a great solution to help reduce speeding, car collisions , and possible pedestrian accidents. The solar powered system includes IR (infra-red) sensors on either side of the gate that trigger the boom arm to rise and fall, forcing cars to reduce their speed to ensure that the boom gate lifts to allow them to pass.

Our AB-SRP and AB-CRM bollards feature a flattened base that helps to prevent the post from lifting or rotating, keeping it stable within the concrete around it. The bollards are also manufactured in galvanized steel. This protection post is 2000mm tall with 800mm mounted below ground and 1200mm above ground, being the perfect height to indicate important assets.
These bollard posts are ideal for installation in construction zones such as railway tracks to aid workers and pedestrians in the placement of important wires and cables. Just like with Victoria’s big build and the companies assisting the removal of level crossings.
