Our rubber bike lane separator is easily installable and an apt solution to creating separation between vulnerable cyclists and motor vehicles, increasing their safety and confidence in being able to use bikes securely. Made of 100% recycled rubber, our lane defenders are environmentally friendly while helping people to make the climate conscious choice to use bicycles.
Working as rubber curbs, these lane defenders come with attached flexible rubber bollards that act as both a visual and physical deterrent. The elevated rubber curbing easily assimilates into roads and takes up minimal space yet is substantial enough to prevent vehicles from unknowingly encroaching on the cycling lanes. The curbs consist of singular modules that can be attached together to reach whatever unique distance the bike lane goes on for. Coming with reflective strips, this rubber curbing is highly visible in low-light and nighttime, increasing the protection and safety of cyclists when the risk of being in a collision may be high.
The curb-attached rubber bollards, though flexible, still work as a significant obstacle to vehicles intruding on cycling lanes. A physical deterrent as much as they are a visual one, if the bollards are collided with they are robust enough that they will make an audible noise that will alert those nearby to be vigilant and the driver to move away. Although there may be a vehicle-bollard collision, the prevention of a collision with a cyclist is achieved and the vehicle will likely not be damaged. Like the curbing, these attached bollards come with reflective strips for high visibility in low-light and nighttime conditions, furthering the safety of cyclists and acting as a clear warning to drivers to stay in their own lane.
