No protection at shop front crash

An 88-year old woman has lost control of her car, ploughing into a café in suburban Geelong. A café visitor was thrown across the floor in the incident which is believed to have been caused by the elderly woman mistaking her accelerator for her brake. 7 News footage of the aftermath shows the café had a lack of bollard protection. UNSW gets High Level Protection

With the increasing occurrence of terror attacks around the world, Sydney’s city council has been taking steps to enhance security around public spaces in the city centre. In June this year, the council installed concrete bollards along Martin Place at the location of the Lindt Café siege, to prevent terrorist attacks like those we have seen in London, Barcelona and Nice.
