Protect Your Shopfront From Cars

A car injured seven people after driving along a row of unprotected shopfronts today. It seems the driver lost control of their BMW and mounted the sidewalk in Brooklyn, New York, America. All the pedestrians have survived so far. It’s not known what caused the vehicle to lose control. Disaster can happen anywhere in the world, at any time for any reason. Recently a car has also driven through the front of a Cold Rock ice cream store in Rowville, Victoria (http://australianbollards.com.au/blog/cold-rock-smash-not-on-the-menu). One small  ...read more

Ram raiders target Rolex store

Ram raiders have attempted a break-in at a Rolex store in Leeds, England. Two small vehicles entered before noon and rammed the store. There have been five such attacks in the city area over the last ten months. Extensive storefront damage was caused by the attempted robbery but it could have been much worse as there were several pedestrians in the area who were lucky not to sustain injuries from the vandals. This crime occurred because there was an inadequate bollard protection at these shopfronts to protect against ram raids. Crime Safe Bolla  ...read more

Ram Raiding thieves strike farming store

A ram-raid on a farming store in Ballan could have ended far worse than it did when a car smashed through the front doors of the shop. The thieves got away with $200 but the cost of the damage done to the storefront could have been avoided. Crossroads Trading has been operating for over 25 years and this is the first time an incident like this has occurred. It is a reminder to all store owners that danger can strike at any time and they should all be equipped with the proper security measures whether it is a farming store, jewellery store or a car dealershi  ...read more

St James Primary School acts on pledge to keep students safe

St James The Apostle Primary School at Hoppers Crossing has installed twenty three stainless steel bollards at the curb at their pick-up and drop-off zone. Before the installation, the curb presented a danger as students had to stand close to the moving traffic. Now the bollards create a barrier between students and traffic, keeping them safe during the busy morning and afternoon hours. The bollards make sure potential accidents won’t result in harm. Cars will be stopped before hitting the curb, preventing incidents like the one at Greenacre School in Sydney this Novem  ...read more

Protecting Warehouses with W-Beam Guard Railing

W-beam guard railing has many applications which extend well past road solutions. Our recent installation at Owens Transport in Altona demonstrates the benefit of the solution in a warehouse setting. The installation serves three main purposes, firstly it has occupational health and safety benefits creating a walk way which forklifts and other machinery cannot enter. Forklifts are heavy pieces of machinery which move in many directions in cramp spaces so anything which can be done to separate foot traffic from forklifts traffic is creating a safer working environment.   ...read more

Stocking up on safety in warehouses

Warehouses can be a dangerous place to work, people working alongside forklifts, trucks and other machinery, often wearing protective eyewear or earwear that can impede the senses of workers. Australian Bollards has recently completed an installation at Diam Displays warehouse in Campbellfield which ultimately demonstrates how both a high level of protection and good traffic flow can be achieved. The installation features my space bollards which creates a safe zone for workers to operate in as well as marking out a lane for machinery and trucks. Featuring a   ...read more
