Rural liquor store ram raided

Two thieves have used a what-seems-to-be-stolen ute as a tool to smash the entrance of a Koo Wee Rup liquor store, in Melbourne’s southeast in the early hours of the Friday morning. Two masked-men stole cigarette lighters and two tills full of cash; albeit failed to break into a cigarette cabinet using their bare hands. The men entered with no tools when the ram raid occurred. The car used in the crime; which can easily be distinct, having black and white number plates, is similar to that of a Ford Ranger with a front bull bar, snorkel and steel tray at the back.   ...read more

Carrum & Patterson Lakes Forum founder Cameron Howe said locals had been calling for a revamp of the car park for years. "The feedback's been very strong and quite clear," he said. Never again ram-raids at Blackburn North

Only a few months ago, a man peered into a shop in Blackburn North. Soon after, he rammed his four-wheel drive into it and left without trouble. The store front was completely unprotected and unprepared for the attack. But not anymore. The event has made Blackburn North take steps to increase security around the building. By installing 168mm diameter bollards, an NJM Group propriety product, in front of the entrance, they have made sure ram-raids are now a thing of the past. The sub surface mounted, concrete backfilled bollards prevent unauthorised vehicles from forcing t  ...read more

Ram raid attack… just for a snack

The extent to which criminals go to just to satisfy their desires is becoming very damaging to the overall fabric of society.
