Following recent terror attacks across the globe, Gold Coast council has installed bollards in at Queen Street Mall with plans to install more bollards in other tourist hotspots. The main locations being discussed are the Esplanade, Broadbeach and Coolangatta. The bollards are retractable which will remain underground to allow easy foot traffic movement.
