A car driving through the tram only section of Bourke Street Mall has fuelled questions of if protection on the famous shopping strip is adequate. Students are going back to school after the holiday, but problems arise as drivers seem to consider speed limits optional. In Canberra, more than 400 drivers were caught speeding in school zones in the first week of term. At the Narrubundah College and Gold Creek High School, almost 100 cars were caught speeding. Ram-raid spree stuns Springhill Shopping Centre

There were scary scenes at Springhill shopping centre this week, when a crazed driver drove along the shopping centre footpath and ram-raided multiple stores. After the shopping centre rampage, the driver then led police on a car chase through the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. A van which mounted a curb leaving 17 people in hospital last Friday goes to show how easily accidents can happen. Reports say the driver accidently set the vehicle on fire from smoking, which resulted in him losing control of the van.
