Ram raid attack… just for a snack

The extent to which criminals go to just to satisfy their desires is becoming very damaging to the overall fabric of society. In recent times, the level of violent ram-raiding criminals have significantly increased. This increase is partly due to the intensity of rising street gangs based in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. In the early morning hours on the 21st of July, an unattended petrol station in Rowville was targeted. The criminals had successfully ram-raided the front entrance and consequentially stole the goods they had come for. The ram-raiding thieves   ...read more

A ram-raid spree has left citizens of Wheelers Hill feeling vulnerable and rattled. Yesterday, two men used a dark SUV to ram into a primary school, a super market and a jewellery store, stealing $1000 cash and $2000 worth of jewellery. This is not the first time the area has been the target of criminal activity. One trader Desi Konstantinou from Le Boquet Floristry has had her store broken into four times in eight years. Melbourne deserve better bollards

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for these past two weeks, you would have heard about the concrete blocks placed throughout Melbourne’s CBD. Iconic venues such as Federation Square, The Queen Victorian Market and Bourke Street Mall have been marred by dull grey blocks with chipped edges. It was only a matter of time before the public took it upon themselves to try to beautify the structures that many were using as ash trays and rubbish dispensers. Creatives equipped themselves with paint, linen, spray cans and their imagination to do all they could   ...read more

Car mounts busy footpath at Boston Airport

It can happen to anyone, a momentary lapse in concentration and you accidently step on the accelerator instead of the brake. This was the case for a Boston Taxi driver who’s out of control vehicle left ten people in hospital with injuries of varying severity. The driver jumped the kerb at Boston Airport and struck fellow taxi drivers awaiting their next customers. If the walkway was protected with bollards, it would have been a very different story. Instead of being in hospital, those ten injured cabbies would just have had a story to tell their families whe  ...read more
